A  story about a tune.

This is a story about a tune, a song, first composed by Johari Salleh.

He wrote a song   and the lyrics were added by another.

Frankie Cheah with My Dark World, a track from the album "You" released in 1972. The album was produced by Reggie Verghese .

here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMZa6IRuIG0

Later the song was "converted" into Malay... :D by Ismail Haron, Singapura's version of Tom Jones.

under the name or title as "Seniman Menangis". The lyrics could be construed as vulgar by Muslims... LOL because he drinks till drunk!... aku minum aku minum hingga mabok. :D :P :)

Later Jamal Abdillah carried the torch with his own version with a change in the lyrics. A milder version of expressing frustrations... I think Jamal only sang his version in a concert, but never recorded it. While playing the piano to boot!!!

By the way, I saw Frankie Cheah singing at the opening of the second Ice Skating Rink at Sungai Wang Plaza. the other performers was (I'll add the name later, cps I forgottenhis name.)

Pictures are not in any particular order....

this also proves that one can learn anything with the internet. Be it musical history, debates or lectures and Quran recitations.
I heard  Wilberforce mentioned during a lecture by Sheikh Hamza Yusuf.

That reminded me of a certain Wilberforce of a certain comic  strip.

But I got confused which strip she was in. I thought she was in “Bringing Up Father.’

Actually she was in “the Born Loser”.

So who was the original Wilberforce  of whom the name was chosen.

I heard during the lecture , that Wilberforce was involve in abolishing  the Slave trade and slave shipping

between Britain and America.

Somebody put me on the road, flat on my back, this afternoon. About 6.30 pm 7th February. Right in the middle of the junction. That kid has panic written all over him... That is why he knocked me down with his sub super bike. I think it was a Kawasaki 400cc something. I broke his fender with my thigh.

I just notice the broken engine part!!!
He hit me right in the middle of my bike! Right where my right foot is on the foot peg and the rear brake pedal is. He tried to cut me off in the front but change his mind, hit me in the middle! OK, both of us were trying to beat the lights. But if he tried to pass me in the back, we'll both be safe. See details in the map. He only have excuses why I hit him. X marks the spot.

DOGMA

dogma

[dawg-muhdog-]

nounplural dogmas or (Raredogmata
 [dawg-muh-tuh(Show IPA)
1.
an official system of principles or tenets concerning faith, morals,behavior, etc., as of a church.
2.
a specific tenet or doctrine authoritatively laid down, as by a church:the dogma of the Assumption;
the recently defined dogma of papal infallibility.
Synonyms: tenetcanonlaw.
3.
prescribed doctrine proclaimed as unquestionably true by a particular group:
the difficulty of resisting political dogma.
4.
a settled or established opinion, belief, or principle:
the classic dogma of objectivity in scientific observation.
Synonyms: convictioncertainty.

In other words, one do not need intellect anymore. Just accept the principles as laid down by whichever ideas one is told to accept.

Funnily, most of the similar terms arise as a result of certain doctrines forcing themselves on to the masses to accept.

We took this job knowing that we may never get rich.

We 've missed out so many holidays, church/mosque services and special occasions in order to protect lives.

We are expected to work miracles and do things other people are scared to do and even save lives.

It has been proven that our life expectancy is shorter than theirs because of the stress, we  go through and the sickness, we get exposed to, and yet there are no hero movies about us.

We must give our life everyday for people we dont know, have never met before and even those who don't like us.

When our family is home suffering alone, we are out here in the cold, dangerous situations and all in the name of protecting property while  saving lives.

We are warriors who gave oath to die for our people!

*We are ''SOLDIERS''

TO ALL THE SOLDIERS OUT THERE LIVING AND DEAD, I SALUTE YOUR SACRIFICE FOR PEACE AND FOR THOSE WHO PAID THE SUPREME PRIZE MAY YOUR  SACRIFICE NEVER BE IN VAIN.

I heard over on a youtube Hyde Park discussion, 20% of Christians leave Christianity statement.
So , naturally I google. And found out it is actually more than that.

According to the Hartford Institute of Religion Research, more than 40 percent of Americans “say” they go to church weekly. As it turns out, however, less than 20 percent are actually in church. In other words, more than 80 percent of Americans are finding more fulfilling things to do on weekends.
Furthermore, somewhere between 4,000 and 7,000 churches close their doors every year. Southern Baptist researcher, Thom Rainer, in a recent article entitled “13 Issues for Churches in 2013“ puts the estimate higher. He says between 8,000 and 10,000 churches will likely close this year.
Between the years 2010 and 2012, more than half of all churches in America added not one new member. Each year, nearly 3 million more previous churchgoers enter the ranks of the “religiously unaffiliated.”

Pew Research Center’s new Religious Landscape Study, a massive survey of more than 35,000 American adults. Over the last seven years, it found, the share of Americans who aren’t part of any religion has grown significantly, rising from 16 to nearly 23 percent of the population. A small portion of this group are atheists and agnostics—3 and 4 percent, respectively. More commonly, though, they are detached from organized religion altogether. When asked what religion they identify with, they answer simply: “Nothing in particular.” All in all, roughly one in ten Americans say religion is “not at all important” to them.

“How important is religion in your life?” The answers reveal that this group might be churchless, but it’s not wholly faithless: 44 percent said religion is “very” or “somewhat” important to them, while 56 percent said religion isn't important to them, according to Greg Smith, Pew’s associate director of research. This is a slight drop compared to findings from a similar survey taken in 2007: That year, 48 percent of the “nones” said religion was important to them, while 52 percent said it wasn’t.

Infinite regression

Infinite  regression or the other term is Homunculus Fallacy...

looks like latin mix.. :P

(also known as: homunculus argument, infinite regress)

Description: An argument that accounts for a phenomenon in terms of the very phenomenon that it is supposed to explain, which results in an infinite regress.
Logical Form:
Phenomenon X needs to be explained.
Reason Y is given.
Reason Y depends on phenomenon X.
Example #1:
Bert: How do eyes project an image to your brain?
Ernie: Think of it as a little guy in your brain watching the movie projected by your eyes.
Bert: Ok, but what is happening in the little guy in your head’s brain?
Ernie: Well, think of it as a little guy in his brain watching a movie...
Explanation: This fallacy creates an endless loop that actually explains nothing.  It is fallacious reasoning to accept an explanation that creates this kind of endless loop that lacks any explanatory value.
Example #2:
Dicky: So how do you think life began?
Ralphie: Simple.  Aliens from another planet seeded this planet with life billions of years ago.
Dicky: OK, but how did that alien life form begin?
Ralphie: Simple.  Aliens from another planet seeded that planet with life.
Explanation: This fallacy can be tricky because maybe it is true that aliens are responsible for spreading life, so the answers might be technically right, but the question implied is how life ultimately began, which this form of reasoning will not answer.
Exception: There might be some exceptions that rely on high-level epistemology having to do with a large enough loop and validating feedback.  The important question to ask is, does the explanation have any value and is the question being answered or deflected?

Anyone remember the fisherman and his daughter who found and nursed a Dugong calf? But the local humanitarian community made such a hue and cry over the matter forcing the fisherman to release the poor helpless baby Dugong. Naturally it died, . Babies die when left in rubbish bins... so do Dugong calfs if left all by it self... They can but we can't.

Moses was not like Jesus.
But Jesus says he will send a comforter.

The Rich Young Man
28 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, in the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for the sake of My name will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.…

The last will be first, refers to the followers of Prophet Muhammad, last in and first to be judge. On Judgement day.

The Rich Young Man above is a part of Matthew 19. Which also tells of Jesus teachings about divorce although Jesus himself never marries, yet, according to Muslims beliefs.

On divorce, this is what Jesus has to share:

Teachings about Divorce
(Mark 10:1-12)
When Jesus had finished saying these things, He left Galilee and went into the region of Judea beyond the Jordan. Large crowds followed Him, and He healed them there.
Then some Pharisees came and tested Him by asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?”
Jesus answered, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female’a and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’bSo they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
“Why then,” they asked, “did Moses order a man to give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”
Jesus answered, “It was because of your hardness of heart that Moses permitted you to divorce your wives; but it was not this way from the beginning.
Now I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman, commits adultery.”c
10 His disciples said to Him, “If this is the case between a man and his wife, it is better not to marry.”
11 “Not everyone can accept this word,” Jesus answered, “but only those to whom it has been given.
12 For there are eunuchs who were born that way; others were made that way by men; and still others live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”

Anyway, let us see Deuteronomy 18: 18

A New Prophet
15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; 16 According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. 17 And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. 18I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. 20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. 21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? 22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

Now what is this all about you may ask.
Moses was not like Jesus.
But Jesus says he will send a comforter.

12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Muhammad sallallahu alai hii wassallammm.  Get the picture?

Who do you follow? Jesus or Paul?

We have to see the previous post about on Matthew 23 which spoke about hypocrisy.

Matthew's Gospel tells that Jesus preached the Law of Moses and that Jesus also said, listen to the scribes and the pharisees but do not follow or do what they do because they are liars.

Now let us look at what Paul teaches.

In 1 Corinthians 9, Paul teaches that he will do anything within his discretion to do anything he wants as long as his intention is met.

Quote from 1 Corinthians 9 :

Paul’s Use of His Freedom

19 Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. 20 To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. 21 To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. 22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. 23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.

Note at verse 23, Paul claims to preach the Gospel... but whose Gospel was Paul preaching?

His own laws actually because he change the Laws of Jesus and Moses completely!

I think this is why Jews don't accept Christianity although Christians accept Jewry.
